Notice: Reopening Ledsham Church (August 2020)
Dear Parishioners and visitors,
Further to new guidelines from the government and The Church of England, and the fact that shielding will be paused from 1 August, I am pleased to say that All Saints Parish Church, Ledsham will be open from Sunday 2 August for Holy Communion services only. Unfortunately, at present, St James’ Church at Fairburn and Ledston Hall Chapel will remain closed.
The PCC has carried out a risk assessment, in line with government and Diocesan guidance, to ensure Ledsham church can be opened safely. You will notice that there will be some changes in and around the church to help enable social distancing, with floor markings and posters to help you. There will be hand sanitiser for you to use on arrival at the church but you should not come into the church if you, or a member of your household, are displaying any symptoms of Covid-19, those being a fever, new or continuous cough or loss of taste or smell.
There will also be some changes to how the services are held. In-line with guidance, there will be no singing, there will be no Peace and shaking of hands and those wishing to take communion will only be offered the wafer and should sanitise their hands before and after taking the wafer. You will also stand to take communion.
I understand that some of these changes will make the services very different to what we are used to but we ask that you embrace the changes to help us make sure that everyone stays safe and well.
